Tricycle as a Stroller Attachment- HotSpotMama Find

Swiss Strolli 1Swiss Strolli 1I was looking on the internet when I came this stroller accessory. Essentially, it is an attachable tricycle. You can attach the tricycle to the stoller (stroller is not included). Just wanted to restate it because it took me by surprise the first time I saw it. Let me describe the product to you and then I’ll let you know my opinion.

[adsense:120x240:1:1]The Swiss Strolli Rider (by Bibi) from Happy Stoller LLC says it offers parents with more than one child a fun, safe and stress-free way to transport their toddler without the need to buy a costly double stroller.

Swiss StrolliSwiss StrolliAll you need to do is attach the Swiss Strolli Rider to the side of almost any stroller. It is suppose to fit on most strollers with a round, scquare or oval frame. All you need to do is to clip in the coupling reducer that fits your stroller, screw the coupling onto the stroller frame, lock it in place with the coupling jaw, and its ready to go. Their website says it should take less than a minute.

The Swiss Strolli Rider has been designed so that your child sits besides you as you push, which means that your feet are free of any obstructions. The saddle has 2 height positions and the footrests and handlebars can be secured wherever is most comfortable for your child.

It is suitable for children at least 15 months old. It is recommended that you do not use the Strolli until your child can walk completely unaided and can sit independently without any help. It can be used until your child is 44lbs. Check out Happy Stroller’s website for more information.

Swiss Strolli 2Swiss Strolli 2I’m a little skeptical about this product for the younger kids. I was just at a birthday party today and there was a 15 month old that could walk very well. 15 month olds are still tiny. I can not imagine that I would be comfortable enough to leave my 15 month old sitting on top of this tricycle. Even if they could balance on it perfectly, I would be afraid that every time I stopped to cross the street my kid would jump off the bike. I could, however, see my 5 year old on it (he’s just under 44 lbs). As you can see from the picture above, an older child looks comfortable on it. But in the picture with younger child, the younger child looks like she could easily fall off.

My next concern is … do you have to attach and detach it every time you want to use it (this is assuming you don’t live in a city where you walk everywhere)? Also, I wonder how awkward it is while going through a store? I would love to hear back from someone who has purchased this or tried it. If you are interested it in buying it, the cheapest place I found that sells it is for $125. Check the link out? There are few other sites selling it, so feel free to look around for a better price.

It looks stupid

Give the tricycle part to Francesco and maybe he can attach it to his skateboard so that someone else can ride with him.

PS I finally got an easy math question: What is l + l--I was able to figure it out in my head! Honest, I didn't use a calculator.

Strolli Rider

I have actually got one of these and it is a life-saver! I use it everywhere, the mall, the park, the grocery store... it goes wherever my 3 year old does. It takes about 10 seconds to attach and trails next to me really well. I get stopped all the time by people asking where I got it from. You must get one if you have an infant and a toddler as it just makes life so much easier.

Agree with HotSpotMama!

The child in the first picture does look secure enough, but I think you are right about the child in the second photo: it looks scary! I wouldn't leave a young child on it and would be afraid that s/he would fall off or forward (knocking out some teeth or at least getting a cut lip).

I see the value of having something like this available, but it seems like the child you would most like to be able to sit/ride on it is probably too young to do so safely. Perhaps with some modifications (safety improvements) it would be more useful. I realize that this is designed for its portability and practicality, but neither of those features are worthy without security to the child.

Oops, double posted

I was having problems with the "math questions"--not getting the right answers, but getting the right answers to be accepted. Even though I, of course, had the correct sums, the message kept appearing that my answers were wrong. I think I tried 18 times before it worked. I was ready to give up since my comment isn't that significant, but I was determined since I noticed that there hasn't been much activity lately--no one seems to be commenting! Maybe others have had similar difficulty?

HotSpot Mama - you should get one!

This bike is the bomb! It is very safe - I would never put my daughter at risk. She loves it and it has made my life soooo much easier. Tell all your friends to get one!

Thanks,

Swiss Strolli Rider

Hi,

You can get one of these online at www.travelingwithkids.com.  I have a friend in Toronto and I bought her one and they sent to to her in Toronto no problem.  She LOVES it!

Hope this helps.

Strolli

Can the Strolli cope with a step or gutter?  What about when you need to go up and down stairs, do you just need to lift the pram really high?
