Site News

We have some happy news to share:

First, we'd like to welcome Emily Swan as a Featured Blogger and the newest addition to our writing team.

Emily's a graduate of Buter University, where she studied history and music. After graduation, she spent five years in public relations, sales, and marketing for two Fortune 500 companies. Now she's a freelance writer and an independent web site designer. She considers science and technology serious hobbies, especially after she found herself reading stacks of physics books for fun in college. Her column will reflect an appreciation of the aesthetic beauty of science and cool gadgts, as well as an appreciation for the genius behind the innovations. She did her first triathlon this summer (and vows to never do one again!), is a singer-songwriter, and teaches a history class on the modern Middle East at her local church. We think she's an awesome addition to our team and we hope you will think so too.

Second, we wanted to update our readers on how the site is doing.

In late March of this year, we had zero readers and zero page reads. From this, we have now grown in 8 months to have almost 2,000,000 page views and about 350,000 visitors for the month of October. If we can keep this up, we'll have close to 25 million page views a year and over 4 million visitors to our site. Isn't that something?!

Thanks to all of you for helping make this site what it is today. We are really excited about what our Featured Bloggers are working on for you. We also have some really interesting projects in the works, so please make sure to bookmark us or subscribe to our feed, and keep on coming back.

Thanks for your support,

I feel like a little starlet saying we couldn't have done it without you..but really, if readers did not keep coming back and send around our stuff, none of this would have gone as it has. So thanks so much, and please keep sending links to our stuff around by email and sharing them at your favorite sites. I am curious what you like on our site and what you think we could do better?
