Sex sells best. We know that.
Thus, sex is being used to sell almost everything even though there are clearly products and services where sex should not be used. But sometimes, using sex to sell makes a lot of sense. Here are seven sexy ads that I think use sex brilliantly:
How improper and provocative can a napkin be? Studio Relax Erotik Massage advertises by using napkins that create an illusion of a hand in the fly. Brilliant?

This hilarious outdoor ad reads "Life is too short, get a divorce."

These ads for Bendon Lingerie were posted on the street poles right before Valentines Day. Using street poles as stripper poles is brilliant, no?

This series of ads is for an erotica shop called Coco de Mer.

Che Magazine combines the image of a gorgeous woman and a coupon skirt to get attention for their magazine. The tag line reads "Let us keep on dreaming of a better world." Using the desire to get a hot woman's number and offering a convenient means of getting it is brilliant, no?

This ad for a British private dancer company was displayed directly on the flight path of all airplanes for an airport. Selling private dancing services to travelling businessmen is brilliant, no?

To sell men's underwear to men, this ad series uses provocative images of women in common male fantasies, like a nurse and french maid.

What do you think? Do you like these ads? Do you think these ads were effective at using sex to sell their product?

So good it sells itself.....
Submitted on October 18th, 2007 by Casual Adventurer (not verified)Yes indeed, Sex...... It meets all of the requirments for effective marketing. You like it, you want it, you can afford it (If you are happy with the kind that doesn't need accessories), you can accessorise it if you like, it's healthy, It family friendly (from the perspective you wouldn't have a family without it).......... Really, apart from the fact that you can't (or at least shouldn't) do it while driving your car..... Sex is so good it sells itself ....... In fact I feel like some right now......
Sex sells and sells and sells
Submitted on July 8th, 2008 by AnonymousGreat ads, they are all a little cheeky and of course targeted at the male population with a few exceptions. Do these ads work? Well, being a male, I'm going to have to say YES!

Gets My Attention
Submitted on August 15th, 2008 by AnonymousFor someone to see the ad, they have to look at it. For something to make you look, it has to be compelling. That leaves two options: Horror or sex. I'll take sexual attraction as the attention-catcher over fear any day.
