Green Innovation Contest

GreenGreenKleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers ("KPCB") is a big technology venture capital firm that believes that our planet is facing a green crisis and that entrepreneurs will be the ones to combat that problem.

To accelerate and encourage innovation, KPCB has launched its annual $100,000 KPCB Prize for Green Innovation awarded for the best technology or policy innovation in Greentech. A panel of five independent judges will select and announce the first winner this fall during KPCB's 2nd Greentech Innovation Network (GIN) Conference.

Here's the deal on the contest:

Eligibility: Any person, group, organization, or company creating significant, sustainable innovation in green technology. This breakthrough may be in green energy generation, storage, conservation, policy, or any other field.

Application Process: Send a description, no more than 5 pages, of the innovation to kpcbgreenprize@kpcb.com. Describe the innovation, its significance and impact on green technology, how you effected that change, and your team’s background.

Deadline: October 31, 2006.
