Condom advertising is a fine art requiring just the right touch. A bit here or there and the whole thing fizzles out. I'm sure you know what I mean.
Companies spend millions to try and figure out whether to let the product speak for itself-- a subdued ad, or cook up a fancy gimmick to make people buy their product from a range of entirely similar creations.
Condom advertising is no different.
Cycling
The Telegraph reports that a Chinese condom manufacturer, Elasun, has really caught on to the Olympic spirit. Based on the Olympics, these cheeky ads show stick-figure athletes using condoms as tools during a variety of events.
Basketball
Apparently the ads are quite a hit in Beijing with contraceptive become versatile, appearing as basketball nets, bicycle wheels, archery targets, or gymnastic rings. The best of the lot though is the use of a ribbed condom to show water for the swimming event.
Archery
Elasun condoms are accompanied by a slogan that translates roughly into, "Sports make you health."
Gymnastic Rings?
As Beijing gets ready to welcome the world, Elasun has managed to be right on target.
