USB Healing Owl is a Real Hoot!

Harry Potter, your peripherals have arrivedHarry Potter, your peripherals have arrived
When it comes to USB gadgets and gizmos, pretty much anything goes. From geek-pleasing keyboard bras to single soda can refrigerators, computer designers have taken full advantage of the convenient, USB plug-in outlet to power all things useful and, well, less so.

The USB Healing Owl, a new idea from Japanese cell phone charms and accessories supplier Strapya World falls into the latter category, though that's not as much of an issue these days as computers are being designed with more USB outlets than ever before. Besides, a little spiritual healing is always good – even if it's the healing power of laughter.

I dare you not to crack a smile while watching the USB Healing Owl in action:

Acting very much like a tiny robot, the USB Healing Owl perches upon its tree stump base or atop your LCD monitor, bobs & swivels its head, and blinks its big round eyes.

It stands just over 2 inches tall and easily adjusts to your choice of modes: Active, Mellow or Sleep. It comes in your choice of Pink, Brown, Gray or White and each version is priced at 2,300 yen (about $22) plus shipping from Strapya World in Tokyo. Makes a great gift for any student, cubicle dweller, Harry Potter fan or all of the above.
