GM Releases Video of Corvette ZR1 at Nurburgring

When the Corvette ZR1 hit the Nurburgring a short while back, most people were impressed with the lap time of 7:26.4. General Motors released the official video of the lap this afternoon, just to give the world a taste of what the ZR1 is like on the famous Nurburgring.

According to GM, the time was set using the same Michelin Pilot Sport 2's that come stock on the ZR1. They also pointed out that all of the tuning was still factory and the ride-height had not been adjusted. Behind the wheel is Jim Mero, a development engineer for GM.

The final time was 17 seconds faster than the previous Corvette record held by the Z06 driven by Jan Magnussen in 2005. While the first run was great, some of the engineers believe the ZR1 can do better and they plan on spending more time at the 'Ring testing the capabilities of the fastest Corvette ever built by GM. 7:24:00 anyone?
