Golf Project Looks To Make Teeing Off More Enjoyable

Golf courses are a thing of beauty. Every detail is manicured to perfection to make sure a golfer’s day is relaxing even if they shot 92 on a previous set of 18 holes. The idea and motivation behind one new project is set to give golfers an even more realistic paradise.

The brainchild of and initiative of Indoor Golf Project and its Managing Director Jon Standing, the Indoor Golf Arena is a golfer’s dream that’s about to come true. The physical phenomenon is an 18,000 square meter indoor golfing facility that is set to open its doors in Netherlands in 2010. The Indoor Golf Arena is aimed to be open 365 days a year and will offer high quality indoor golf training facilities.

Some main features of this remarkable concept include:

- 14,000 meteres squared of synthetic grass practice facilities, designed by Nicklaus Design.

- 20 advanced ProTee Golf Simulators and 28 hitting bays.

- Several training facilities for kids and a Bambini Golf Course.

- An unconventional rooftop driving range with 34 bays.

- Several wellness and golf fitness facilities.

- A training centre and Short Game Centre of Excellence that will accommodate National Golf Federations.

- A PGA Europe implemented training scheme.

- A large golf equipment store.

- A top quality restaurant, bar and lounge area.

- 4-star hotel with over 200 rooms.

The list goes on and on, but the main point the developers hope to get across is to provide golf fanatics with a unique indoor golf training facility. They hope to help golfers improve their game as well as introduce the sport to more people (especially youth).

Once opened, it wouldn’t be surprising if the indoor facility was instantly ranked right next to golf courses like Pebble Beach and St. Andrew’s.

I think I'll start to love golf

The hell..this is such an amazing golf course. It makes want to become a golfer just like Tiger Woods. Indoor golf courses will surely be a major breakthrough in sports. I hope this will be realized as soon as possible. I'm going to list The Netherlands as one of my top future destinations then.
