One of the biggest problems with surveillance systems is producing identifiable images when a situation occurs. Time and time again, still shots from camera systems are shown on the news with the suspect looking down and away from the cameras to avoid identification. The resultant image, coupled with the fact that most of the time the video has to be zoomed in so much that the image is pixilated and grainy, often times results in unusable results.
The close proximity of the PennyCam to the suspect and its unique, upwards viewing angle captures images of criminals standard overhead security cameras simply cannot match.
The images produced are far more likely to result in a positive identification of the suspect than that of traditional overhead CCTV cameras. All in a package disguised to look like an item found in most convenience stores, liquor stores and gas stations:
