I like highlighting artists who use interesting materials in inventive ways.
I recently discovered to art of Scott Wade, a artist who uses a material that completely surrounds us...ordinary dust. His work reminds me of sand artists, whose creations disappear with the next tide or ice sculpture artists who lose their work to the sun. It makes me think of the evocative phrase "Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust."
Dogs Playing Poker
"When the dust gets thick on the back window of his Mini Cooper, Scott Wade uses it as a canvas to create temporary works of art. Among his creations was a copy of C.M. Coolidge's 'A Friend in Need,' better known as dogs playing poker." This is "Wash Me" taken to a totally new level.
Yes, Honey
Wade lives off the unpaved Roadrunner Road north of San Marcos, Texas which dusts the back windows of his car and gives him the canvases to create his own works of art.
Santa's Everywhere
Wade used his finger and other implements to etch this homage to Vincent Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' and Leonardo da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa.' A more complete gallery of his work is provided by the Austin American -Statesman here . (Thanks to Screenhead. )

I like the first and third picture, but not the second one. But, hey, two out of three ain't bad.
Not Meatloaf, Kansas!
Submitted on July 8th, 2006 by Anonymous Kansas (not verified)It is a curiosity--everything is just dust in the wind-shield. But doesn't it crumble to the ground and slip away?
