A firework is a low explosive pyrotechnic used for entertainment such at firework displays and holiday celebrations (4th of July, New Years, etc). Brilliant in color and explosively loud fireworks bring smiles and joy to people all over the world, but as beautiful as they are to watch there is some concern that fireworks may be dangerous to our health and to our environment.

In an effort to help Americans be less dependant on foreign oil John McCain has made a $300 million proposal. He announced his proposal recently at an event at the student union at California State University in Fresno. This $300 million proposal is to be rewarded to the inventor of a more efficient car-battery to power hybrid and electric vehicles.

The way gas prices keep going up it would be great if we could pour water in our vehicles and then take them for a drive. Crazy idea, right? Maybe, it isn't such a crazy idea. Water can power a lot of things: you, me, batteries, plants, the list goes on. Why then couldn't water power a vehicle? Maybe it can and Genepax is working on it.

An innovative automatic energy saving tool has been designed to reduce the use of electricity that is wasted when electronic devices (ex. computers) are turned on, but not in use. The invention is called the CheckTap. It won the Grand Prix in the 36th International Exhibition Of Invention in Geneva.

I must have a thing for innovative shoes or for recycled trash. I’m not sure which but here’s a topic that combines the two and involves the quickly growing eco-conscious company, Nike. So here it is, Nike has a new basketball eco-shoe nicknamed Nike Trash Talk. The shoe is modeled after Steve Nash’s current shoe, the Nike Zoom BB II Low. It isn’t Nikes first eco-shoe but it is the latest.

The Bagir Company, in Kiryat Gat Israel, has done it again and created another eco-friendly suit for men. The new suit, called "EcoGIR Recycled", is ready to go on the market for Father's day. For about $200 a suit, you can buy Dad a professional looking EcoGIR recycled suit at Sears.
