TomTom’s newest GPS device isn’t your average navigational unit. The TomTom GO 920T has a 4.3 inch touch-screen, integrated Bluetooth, voice address input, Enhanced Positioning Technology, and much more. TomTom is the largest GPS manufacturer in the world so rest-assured, their top-of-the-line GPS unit is the real deal.

The new TomTom GO 920T pretty much has every feature that is currently available in GPS devices. The 920T comes equipped with an RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver in the box, along with a free 1 year subscription to the traffic warning service. This TomTom also comes with maps of both Europe and North America stored in the unit’s 4 GB of internal memory. If you’ll need maps of other countries, the 920T has an SD card slot where you can add additional memory for maps.

The TomTom GO 920T sports a beautiful 4.3 inch touch-screen display, but if you don’t want to get fingerprints on the screen, you can use the included Bluetooth remote control to operate the device. This navigational device will also take advantage of Bluetooth technology to sync with your cell phone so that you can make hands-free calls through the device itself.

The GO 920T also features a built-in FM transmitter, which is a feature that allows you to hear the sounds from the GPS device wirelessly through the car’s speakers. This GPS device also has a host of other “common” GPS features such as text-to-speech functionality, millions of POI’s, and TomTom’s own Map Share feature.

There are 2 new features that I am most excited about in the TomTom GO 920T. The first new feature is the voice prompted address entry. This feature allows you to speak an address instead of having to type it into the device. This feature is very rare in portable GPS devices – at least at this point in time. The other exciting new feature of the GO 920T is the new Enhanced Positioning Technology. This feature will greatly reduce the number of times that the GO 920T loses its satellite signal during situations such as going through tunnels, through the mountains, or near tall buildings. This technology involves the use of gravity and movement sensors to calculate the driver’s position. Again, this feature is exclusive to TomTom, and it can be very useful if you’re always losing your satellite signal while navigating with your current GPS unit.

All of this cool technology does come with a hefty price tag. The TomTom GO 920T has a MRSP of $699. The TomTom GO 920 is a very similar model that retails for about $599. TomTom is currently running a special for $100 off either model, but the sale ends January 5 – so hurry!
