It may be more than you think

Instead of the season finale, it may be the series finale. The ratings haven't been good this year, no thanks to Peter and Simon trying to do it on the cheap compared with last year. Fewer finalists, fewer episodes (although arguably an awful lot of the first season was recaps of the worst auditions), almost no inventions worth voting for, much less worth buying. Put a fork in it. It's pretty much done. If they do manage a miracle and get this renewed for next summer, it would need to be retooled from the ground up to be less about seeing weirdos and wackos and more about seeing some good ideas. Reinvent American Inventor. And get rid of George the "yes" man.

I Can See Them Trying to Stretch This Season

Maybe they will air a two-hour special on the inventions that weren't featured during the regular season and/or weren't good enough to make it to the finals.  They could show the Therapy Buddy, a toilet, the Therapy Buddy, a chomode, the "Love Test" song, the Therapy Buddy, a urine bag. a kid crying, a chomode, and the Therapy Buddy.  Peter can be shown making funny faces and rolling his eyeballs, George can repeatedly say, "YES!  I'd buy that right now", and the other judges can occasionally say something without substance.  Or, does that sound too much like the regular season?

The Previews

I've seen the previews for tonight's show.  Well, actually, I've seen the faces of the finalists as they cry.  I mean,   I've seen the previews for tonight's show.

Their Ratings Must Suck

I recently saw the top 10 shows (such as "America's Got Talent", "Last Comic Standing"......no "American Inventor"--surprise, surprise!)   If they are trying to get the worst possible ratings for the year, maybe "American Inventor" will help them achieve their goal.

Glad it's finally over!

I'm glad Season2 is finally over. Happy Greg got his 1 Million dollars. He won because he had the STORY, I knew it all along....a hero/fireman with many kids to feed. Inventionwise, Guardian Angel is mediocre (a kid could have thought that up, and got voted off because there was no fireman's STORY behind it). As for these finalists, I wonder how long the licensing companies will take to get the product on the market - keep in mind none of Season1's finalists' products have gotten to market yet. To all the inventors, "keep punchin' and don't give up!" To ABC, get rid of George Foreman and get a patent attorney as a judge. IMHO, Season2 was no improvement over Season1, that's my take, the best inventions were never shown, or were voted off....Wade Sun, Season1 Top 30.

HT RACERS and SPIN MASTER

I think Ricky DeRennaux and his HT RACERS kit will be the one AMERICAN INVENTOR success.  Spin Master is a great company and they actually license inventions from people all over the world. They believe in inventing - and with Ricky DeRennaux they found the real deal!! I think HT RACERS will be a huge money maker and it is a cool invention!

The REAL Cardinal Sin tm

I agree Mr. Cynic and by the way you should trademark the "Reinvent American Inventor" slogan. Very creative. I did like George though with his down-to-Earthness; it was a comforting alternative to Peter's cold snarkiness.

Yes, the ratings haven't been good this year. Looks bad for either the show or at least some of the judges. And I too think Peter should get the American public involved earlier on in the show. The thing is, the way it stands now, do you think this website should attach itself to something (like this show) that could possibly ruin it's reputation?

American Inventor

In my opinion the show was a bust, It will not be back next year.

The show is only looking for Inventions that they can develop & make money on.

The Inventors also need to have a story that includes drama.

The way I saw it, how does the public know that they voted that Inventor to win? It seemed like they put the Invention & Inventors through that the judges wanted to win because of there story about that Invention & about that Inventor & the potential for them to make money on.

The top three finialist were all Inventions that needed to be developed & had an element of drama.

The other three finialist did not have any drama involvement. Tee couple - to happy, brothers & hook guys - all business.

Maybe ABC should bring back the show MILLION DOLLAR IDEA, the one that Simon Cowell stold that use to be on ABC.

I bet Simon Cowell had more money than the MILLION DOLLAR IDEA show had, & I bet that the MILLION DOLLAR IDEA show folks settled out of court.

Maybe someone that has some money can come up with a new show for Inventions & Inventors call - HOW TO MAKE A MILLION DOLLARS or MILLION DOLLAR INVENTIONS or MILLION DOLLAR INVENTORS or INVENTORS INVENTONS etc...

If I had a MILLION DOLLARS, I could make $10-MILLION DOLLARS & I could help a DOZEN Inventors along the way make a MILLION DOLLARS.

NBC vs ABC

I read that "America's Got Talent" and "Last Comic Standing" have already been approved for next summer.  Gee, I wonder why I haven't seen anything about "American Inventor" being back next year.  Piers beat out Peter and Sharon Osborne has a brigher future than.....ummm....what's that AI female judge's name?
