Turn on the faucet and let the light flow? Hmm... Seems a bit paradoxical, but the Light Drop by Brazilian designer Rafael Morgan does just that.

I'll be honest with you. I like my incandescent lighting. It's warm, it's cozy, it gives off that perfect, 40-watt, energy-sucking glow. But I know that there are certain sacrifices one must make in an effort at being eco-friendly. As such, it's always intriguing to witness the impressive innovations and aesthetic evolution of those other, often underrated, low-energy alternatives.

anything 'light' on tap?

Designed by Brazilian artist Rafael Morgan, this award-winning light blends style and function with a thought-provoking visual commentary on the use of our natural resources, particularly water. The wall-mounted "taps" function as dimmer switches for the drippy, custom-molded LEDs, allowing more or less light to be shed on whatever subject whilst urging us to ponder the sources and limitations of our environmental reserves.

This design is going to be produced by Dark this year, so if you're interested in a steady trickle of LED illumination, the Light Drop may be right up your alley.
